Pursuant to NCGS § 7B‑301 (2016), there is mandated reporting of child abuse and neglect in North Carolina. Often, the cases are screened out due to semantics. Using the 2024 CPS Intake Policy, Protocol, and Guidance during reporting increases the probability of a successful case assignment and investigation.
